Grant Agreements

The following is an extract from the foundations grant agreement which details the relevant terms and conditions of funding.

The Harold Mitchell Foundation Grant Agreement contains the following terms and conditions:
1.The grant funds provided by the Harold Mitchell Foundation be wholly and exclusively expended on the project as represented in the application for the grant and described in summary within this grant agreement. The grant funding can not be used for any other activity or business of the organisation.

2.The organisation is required to advise the Harold Mitchell Foundation if there is any variation to the project’s original scope, its management and budget or in instances where the organisation is unable to proceed with the project’s commencement or realise the project’s full completion on time.

3.The Harold Mitchell Foundation reserves the right to be reimbursed and/or withdraw all funding if the organisation or its directors are found guilty of illegal or improper conduct or if the conditions of the grant are not complied with.

4.The organisation issue and forward to the Harold Mitchell Foundation an official tax-deductible receipt of donation within 14 days of receipt of any funds from the Harold Mitchell Foundation.

5.The organisation provides confirmation to the Harold Mitchell Foundation of the actual commencement date and anticipated completion date for the project.  Any variations to the project’s completion date must be advised to the Harold Mitchell Foundation. 

6.The organisation provides the Harold Mitchell Foundation with an acquittal report within 45 days of the completion of the project.  This acquittal report must include a financial report indicating income and expenditure for the project and a brief assessment summary of the project’s activities, and whether objectives were met and anticipated outcomes achieved.

7.Projects that are not completed within 12 months of payment of the grant or projects that were originally determined to continue beyond a 12 month period will require the organisation to furnish an interim or progress report to the Harold Mitchell Foundation.  The Harold Mitchell Foundation will advise such organisation’s separately of the abridged requirements for inclusion in this progress report.

8.Any grant funds remaining at the completion of the project are to be returned to the Harold Mitchell Foundation.

9.The organisation is free to acknowledge the Harold Mitchell Foundation as it wishes however such recognition is not a condition of grant funding.

10.The Harold Mitchell Foundation is entitled to publicise its donation to the organisation.
