Do You Qualify

How we assess your application

When we receive your application, we will firstly check to see whether your organisation or auspice/funding partner is an eligible entity, that your project meets our funding criteria and that you have correctly completed the application.

If one or more of these areas is not met we will reject your application and advise you by email of the reason why. This is likely to occur within a few days of the Foundation receiving your application.

If your organisation and project qualify and your application is correctly completed it will be submitted to the Board for consideration at the next funding round meeting.

The Board’s Assessment

The Harold Mitchell Foundation Board meets several times during the year to consider applications and we aim to assess your application within 10 weeks of its receipt.

In the Board’s assessment of applications, they appraise projects against the Foundation’s project funding criteria.

Should your project be selected for possible funding, we will speak with you to seek any further information that may be required.

If you Application is Unsuccessful

If the Board decides not to support your application, we will advise you by email of this decision within a few days of a funding round meeting. We hope you appreciate that the Harold Mitchell Foundation receives many more applications than can be supported with our limited set of funds. It is often the case that applications of considerable merit cannot be funded simply because the demand for financial support exceeds the supply of available funds. Rejection does not imply a negative judgement of your project. Please note that decisions taken by the Board cannot be reviewed and that the Foundation does not provide feedback on applications that have been rejected.
