In 2000 Harold & Beverley Mitchell decided to increase their commitment to give back to the community in which their own hard work has been rewarded.

The Mitchell family has been passionately involved in the arts and health for many years. The family believes that expanding our knowledge of health should sustain and grow us all. At the same time, our creativity gives us meaning and an excitement for living.

The Foundation was formed in June 2000 and began distribution in late 2001.
