When you complete your application on-line please:

  • limit your project description to 1,000 words. We do not require referees, resumes or extensively detailed descriptions of your project at this stage of our application process;
  • address how your project fits the funding criteria within the project description section. Note that you do not need to meet all criteria to be eligible for consideration of funding. It is acceptable to only meet one of the criteria; and

Closing Date for Applications

We do not have closing dates for applications. We endeavour to respond to you within 10 weeks of receipt of your application.

Special Notes:

As the Harold Mitchell Foundation has limited funds often applications deemed to be eligible and of merit cannot be funded. Decisions therefore cannot be reviewed and all applicants should understand that rejection does not mean that their project was not of interest to or well regarded by the Board Directors.

Please note that in the event that your application isn't successful you are not inhibited from making another application for a different project in the future. However, should you wish to reapply for a project that was not successful, you will have to wait for 12 months from the date of your initial application for your resubmission to be considered.

The Harold Mitchell Foundation does not set predetermined funding levels or limitations for individual grants. The ultimate quantum and term of grant will be finalised depending on the subject matter and appropriateness of the project ideas put forward through the application process.
