Davina Cossigny works at Austin Hospital and the University of Melbourne. She is investigating spinal metastasis and developing a novel animal model that mimics this devastating disease seen in humans.
Awarded in 2010, when she was at the Prince Henry's Institute of Medical Research, the Harold Mitchell Health Fellowship allowed Davina to visit researchers at the University of Chicago, and attend the 17th Ovarian Workshop in Wisconsin.
“Needless to say, the entire experience has given me great insight into the world of reproductive science but most importantly, given me greater confidence in my own research,” says Davina. “The amount of people I have come into contact with and the knowledge that I have gained through my travels has been invaluable and I am deeply appreciative of having been given the chance to attend the conferences.”
“It most definitely confirmed within me that I want to continue a career in medical research, in whatever field that may be!”
